There are several things around my house right now that motivate me to get my workouts and training completed.
In my bedroom is my medal rack, it's directly across from my bed, so I see it every morning and every night before I go to bed. It's a reminder that I have run 7 half marathons and several other races and that I can do it no matter what!
In my living room, on my mantel is a collage photo frame of several races I have ran by myself and with friends. It reminds me that I have an amazing support system and that I can also influence others to increase their fitness.
And in my kitchen on my fridge is the most important inspiration and motivation I have, on the bottom of my fridge is my race bib from my half marathon this past March, where I had my fastest time ever and on the top of my fridge is my training plan.
It has really helped me be accountable seeing that plan every time I open the refridgerator. I check off each day as I complete it.
Every day I remember that four years ago I wouldn't have even run around a block because my smoking addiction had control over me. When I quit smoking I took up running and never thought I would even run 3 miles, and now I am training for my 8th half marathon. I am so thankful to have come so far in my running and fitness and I will never look back, always looking forward and always planning for a higher goal to reach!
