Today completed Week 3 of my half marathon training for Alston & Bird Half Marathon.
This week my heart really wasn't in my training, I actually found myself NOT wanting to run. And the 4 days of rain didn't help the situation! Mentally I found myself unfocused and at one point I thought I was getting sick but it just turned out to be a fever blister (yuck) but I'm glad I'm not sick. I am just glad I was able to complete what I could and tomorrow starts a new week!

I am bummed that I missed my scheduled long run (10 miles) but at the same time I just couldn't fit it in this weekend. I had a few unexpected circumstances so my schedule was all haywire. I hope to get myself mentally and physically back on track this week!
Only 7 weeks to go!
Looks like you still had a super productive week, despite missing your long run. Getting through those days where your heart isn't in it is what separates you from the crappy runners out there. Always proud of you.
ReplyDeleteIt always means so much more when you don't feel like running, yet get it done anyway. You should be proud!
ReplyDeleteI need to log my chilly challenge miles, good reminder. Better to have an uninspired week now than later in training. You will have better weeks to come!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job!! And we all have weeks/days when running is the last thing we want to do! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you had a 10 miler LR scheduled 3 weeks in! I'll have to look back at your training plan...hope you have a better week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting back on track and don't be hard on yourself for a missed run. I don't like running in the rain much either. I hate being cold and wet.
ReplyDeleteyour training is AMAZING and I'm super excited for you :)
