Week 2 is DONE!

Oh my goodness, I am so glad that Week 2 of A&B Half Marathon training is over!

This week was trying physically and mentally for me. I don't know what happened.
I was good on Mon, Tues & Wed and then Thursday came and it was like I hit a wall.
My run on Thursday was tough, my legs were heavy and I slowly but surely finished it.
Yesterday's run sucked, I went out for my long run (9 miles) and ended with 3.1 miles instead. My heart wasn't in it, my stomach felt empty and I was physically & mentally depleted.
Lucky for me I had a redemption today, I ran my 9 miles, it wasn't the greatest run and I can't say "I rocked it!" but it's done and I am glad.
I only planked 4 out of the 7 days which is not sufficient for me since I have been planking every day since December 1st and I also only did one day of strength training instead of two.
Oh well sometimes you have off weeks and this was my off week!

This week has been hard on me physically & mentally. I have to remember to take advantage of those rest days to let my body have some time off. I did that this week. Friday, I took a complete rest day and I am so glad that I did.
Thankfully the bad runs always remind me to be thankful when I have a good run and also that not every run will be good. When you have a bad run, you can't give up, you just need to take a moment and get back out there!

  2. It's good to give your body what it needs and it sounds like you were smart for listening to your body.

  5. Your week looks great to me! I always try to make sure and have 2 rest days or at least one with an easy workout day like yoga or pilates. Don't worry everyone has bad runs:) It makes the great ones that much more special!
