A little belated....

Well....we did not get one ounce of snow! What a disappointment!
Even though I was optimistic about whether or not we would get snow, I was actually really hoping for some...plus that would give me a 3 day weekend! lol

Today I ran 5 miles after work and the weather was pretty great, sunny and in the 40's, perfect for running. Still not feeling that great, but not feeling bad enough not to run.

A few things have totally passed me by recently and I can't believe I didn't remember them!

First off on January 4, it was my 4 year anniversary of quitting smoking!
This was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. After 10 years of smoking, I decided to take my life back, insert my new addiction: running.
If you would have asked me 5 years ago, if I wanted to run, I would laughed in your face and said only if someone is chasing me!
Imagine 4 years later, I have run 6 half marathons, several 5k's, 8k's, 10k's and so many training runs!

Secondly on Monday, January 14, my blog had an anniversary of 3 years!
I can't even believe that I have been blogging for that long!
I decided to create my blog after reading ChicrunnerSkinnyrunner and Hungryrunnergirl.
I fell in love with running and blogging.
I read these ladies' blogs and thought, I can do that, so Southern Girl Running was born.
Since having my blog, I have connected with so many other amazing bloggers. This blogging community has such amazing support and I love that you learn so much in the process.
I started my blog to keep myself accountable for my running and workouts and now it's part of this little blogger world that I am so proud to be a part of!

I am excited to celebrate both these anniversaries and glad I am able to share them with you!

Speaking of celebrations, I have another couple coming up.....

In exactly one month from today I will celebrate my 32nd birthday.
HOLY COW, I can't believe I am going to be 32.
Where has the time gone?!!
But I can say that for the first time in a long time that I am excited for my birthday and for this entire year. I feel like my life has started a new chapter and I can't wait to see what the future brings!

AND in just 25 days I will celebrate owning my home for 3 years!
I can't believe I have been in my townhome for that long, it feels like I just bought it yesterday.
Another great decision that I made for myself.

Have you had any anniversaries lately?

When is your birthday?

What are you looking forward to in 2013??

  5. Quite the list you got there. I don't have much going on to that degree! Very proud of you though, even if you are an old lady.

I am there with you on the feeling crummy, so I am not looking forward to my runs over the weekend.
